Nestled in the heart of the village of Llandaff North just 3 miles from Cardiff Central is a trendy , casual Indian restaurant and takeaway. With its causal and relaxed atmosphere along with the vibrancy of different combination of flavours , in just over a year Salkaara is now a popular up-coming name within the Cardiff restaurant world.
Salkaara – derived from the word Salkaram in Malayalam which means hosting a guests or a feast or even just a hearty welcome. In line with its meaning , we at Salkaara have great pleasure in serving each and every one of our guests. At Salkaara we aim to take you on a gastronomical journey of various Indian flavours and Chef Santhosh’s mastery over the combination of such flavours. Hailing from Kerala – Chef Santhosh’s menu does lean towards Keralan or if not South Indian cuisine but we do have a variety of dishes from other parts of India combining them with the best of British produce wherever possible.
Each and every dish is freshly prepared to have its own distinct combination of flavours such that no two dishes are similar and we aim to create seasonal changes to the menu to match with supplies available, weather , festive and Indian traditions. We always tend to use some of the best suppliers locally in sourcing our meat , fish and poultry . We also tend to mix and powder some of our spices to achieve the unique Salkaara taste.
